YOUNG actors from CODYS are limbering up and practicing their best Disney smiles for their latest production, High School Musical.

The tale of friendship, first love and acceptance focuses on high school jock Troy and Gabriella, the new smart girl at school, who become attracted to each other when sparks fly at a karaoke competition.

High School Musical will be staged at The Brindley in Runcorn from Tuesday, September 5, to Sunday, September 9.

CODYS was founded by Nick Cupit in 1996 to give Warrington youngsters more opportunities to be involved with musical theatre.

There are now around 60 members, aged between 11 and 18.

The award-winning group performs two shows at The Brindley each year and previous productions have included Phantom of the Opera, Billy Elliot, Miss Saigon and Les Misérables.

  • High School Musical is at The Brindley from September 5 to 9.
