DASHCAM footage has captured the problems facing motorists at a 'pointless give-way' on Longshaw Street.

Dallam resident Nick Zamfiresco filmed the footage on the road, off Hawleys Lane.

The 'give-way' is in place to give drivers 'priority over oncoming vehicles' but Nick said many people are failing to pay attention to it.

He added: "It happens every single day.

"I have lived in the area for over 10 years and it is just people not willing to wait.

"It is a pointless give-way, we would rather have speed bumps.

"From my point of view that would help. It is just a nightmare."

Warrington Borough Council has urged anyone with concerns to report the matter to the police.

A spokesman said: "Priority give-way traffic calming features are regulated under Section 36 of the Road Traffic Act, and as such, are enforced by the police.

"We would recommend that anyone who has concerns over motorists contravening the restrictions in place should contact the police to make them aware of the issue and request that periodic enforcement is undertaken.

"Similarly, in line with the council's obligations as the highway authority and following the footage provided to us, we will ensure that all signs and lines are present and correct to ensure that motorists are fully aware of how they are expected to behave at this feature."
