PLANS continue to take shape as part of the development of St Michael’s Church Parish Hall in Burtonwood.

In June, blueprints to build a Co-op store off Chapel Lane were withdrawn to allow the developer more time to liaise with the council over improvements to the design of the car park entrance and landscaping.

In a statement released at the time, a Co-op spokesman said it was anticipated that a new application would be submitted in the next few weeks.

While plans have yet to be submitted to Warrington Borough Council, an artist’s impression of the changes to the store design was published on Twitter by developer Langdale Capital.

A spokesman for the Co-op said: “The site’s developer has been fully engaged with the council throughout the planning process.

“The image released reflects some of the changes that have been made as part of that process and additional improvements to the entrance area have been made since.

“The planning process is currently ongoing.”

Previous blueprints included renovation work on the parish hall in order to safeguard the future of the community building for the next generation.

Plans also included the construction of a new car park for the parish hall with 18 spaces, one disabled space, two motorcycle spaces and cycle stands.

The old car park was earmarked for the single storey retail premises with a 21-space car park and on-site delivery facilities.
