HOUGHTON Weavers’ traditional Warrington Christmas concert will be held on December 15.

The band, including former Lymm High School pupil Steve Millington, will ‘keep folk smiling’ at the Pyramid.

The multi-instrumentalists, who used to have their own BBC series Sit Thi Deawn, have been entertaining crowds for more than 40 years with their blend of folk music and humour.

During their time together Steve, who grew up in Thelwall, Tony Berry and David Littler have performed thousands of concerts and recorded more than 30 albums.

Rebecca Mundy, from Parr Hall, said: “The Houghton Weavers guarantee a top quality show suitable for all the family honed to perfection over four decades in the business which, combined with their individual style and professionalism, adds up to a wonderful night of entertainment.”

When he is not with the Weavers, Steve is also well known as a music producer who has had the likes of Peter Kay and Tony Christie behind the mic.

He ran Warrington’s renowned Frog Studios for more than 20 years and continues to work with the likes of Universal from his home studio in Northwich.
