PARENTS can get free meals for their children at Morrisons cafe this summer.

The supermarket on Greenalls Avenue is inviting families to spend a bit of quality time together chatting at the dinner table.

The company hopes free food for youngsters will help ease pressure on the weekly shopping bill and get children chatting.

A spokesman said research reveals that 64 per cent of parents say they struggle to get more than a one word answer from their kids when they ask them about their day, so they have put a list of imaginative questions together to help get the conversation started with the help of expert Dr Amanda Gummer.

Adrian Poultney, store manager at Morrisons, said: “We know that some parents are looking for help feeding and engaging their kids in the school holidays.

"We hope that Dr Gummer’s questions for kids will help parents create exciting conversations and we hope that our free meals will take the strain off the family budget in August.”
