A TEENAGER was rushed to hospital this afternoon following a crash involving a car.
The North West Ambulance Service has confirmed that the 18-year-old was taken to Aintree Hospital following the collision on Crosfield Street.
The driver of the car was uninjured.
The road was closed in both directions after police were called to the area at 2.15pm today, Friday, following a crash involving a Blue Citroen CS and a pedestrian.
The road was reopened at 4pm but congestion has been reported across the town centre.
