A MINI-Creamfields for pensioners will be held in the build up to this year’s festival.
Retirees will be invited to the mini-festival at St John’s Community Church Hall in Higher Walton, adjacent to the Creamfields site, on Monday, August 21 between 1pm and 4pm.
Creamfields revellers are being encouraged to volunteer for the mini-festival, with those who give their time being given the opportunity to earn a free ticket.
Elderly residents from Gainsborough House, Broomfields sheltered accommodation, Sandy Lane Community Centre and the Warrington Older People’s Partnership will be treated to an afternoon of live music, alcohol-free cocktails, cream teas and bingo at the Old Chester Road church hall.
The mini-festival, a partnership between Creamfields, Warrington Borough Council and the 10,000 Hours Foundation, aims to tackle loneliness among older people as well as to encourage young people to volunteer.
Volunteers are wanted to help to decorate the hall in a festival style.
