Warrington Town 3 Airbus UK 1
WARRINGTON Town passed their final test before the start of the new season with a friendly victory over Welsh Premier League side Airbus UK.
Connor Hughes, Abou Sanogo and Jay McCarten were on the scoresheet for Yellows at Cantilever Park.
Chances were few and far between in the first half, with Tony Gray having a header cleared off the line for Yellows while, at the other end, Tony McMillan was forced into a save from Mark Jones’ volley.
Town took the lead when Wes Baines failed to deal with Dylan Vassallo’s cross, presenting Hughes will the simple task of slotting home.
However, the lead did not last long as, after Phil Baker slipped up, Pavel Vieria finished high beyond McMillan.
The Yellows stopper produced a couple of good saves before Paul Carden’s side took the lead when Sean Williams’ free-kick was glanced home by Sanogo.
The game was made safe not long after when Airbus failed to deal with another set-piece and McCarten produced a good finish from the loose ball.
Warrington Town: McMillan, Goulding, McKeown, Williams, McCarten, Baker, Hughes, Hynes, Hine, Gray, Vassallo. Subs: A Carden, Mwasile, Jerome, Sanogo, Trialist.
