CHILDREN'S favourite Zog will be making two special appearances at Golden Square this week to delight young fans.

The  popular dragon created by Gruffalo masterminds Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler will be flapping his wings into Waterstones at 1pm and 3pm on Saturday and Sunday this weekend.

Fans of the books will be able to meet the friendly dragon Zog and have their photograph taken with him.

During the event, staff at the store will also be fundraising for the Children's Reading Fund, a Book Trust initiative which aims to 'change the story' for disadvantaged children who do not have the access to books and reading others take for granted.

Matt Harrop, store manager at Waterstones in Golden Square said: “Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s books are some of our best sellers and we’re thrilled to be welcoming Zog to the store."
