LYMM’S Harriet Knowles-Jones is safely through to the 1500m final at the European under 20s Athletics Championships.
Warrington Athletics Club’s middle-distance star finished second in her heat this morning, stopping the clock at 4mins 21.14secs.
The 19-year-old finished behind Gaia Sabbatini, representing home nation Italy in Grosseto, and was seventh-fastest over the two heats.
Knowles-Jones will now switch focus to winning a medal when she contests the final, which is scheduled for 4.30pm UK time on Sunday.
