RESIDENTS are being reminded that they must be willing to provide information 'on the record' to bring fly-tipping perpetrators to justice after waste was dumped in Howley.

Concerns have again been raised in the area after rubbish – including a washing basket, clothing and wood – was left at Dalton Bank.

Environmental crime officers have been made aware of it.

A council spokesman said: "This particular issue has been reported to us and our street scene team will be attending to clear up the rubbish.

"We need residents to come forward and be willing to provide information on the record about who has illegally dumped waste.

"This helps enable our officers to consider taking formal action.

"Without evidence officers can be limited to informal action only.

"Please help us identify those in the community who are disrespecting the area and help us to take legal action where necessary."
