HEAD down to Birchwood Shopping Centre to enjoy the town's first micropark.
A fun day will be held on Saturday to mark the transformation of a disused piece of land which provides organisations, fitness groups and schools with a plot of green space to use.
On Saturday, the shopping centre fun day will provide free activities for all the family including a craft workshop, an inflatable helter skelter, a birds of prey display and a bug hunt trail.
There will be face painting and the club mascot Woody will be in attendance to meet and greet shoppers.
Gary Jones Birchwood’s centre manager said: “A lot of hard work and dedication went into the project from numerous organisations and local charities, which we are really grateful for.
“Children aren’t the biggest fans of shopping trips with their parents so we wanted to be the first to provide a healthy and fun area with nature for the kids while shopping.”
The new park includes a nature area and bird feeding facilities.
