POLICE uncovered a cannabis stash during a routine stop check near to Warrington town centre.
Officers from Cheshire Special Constabulary were carrying out a routine patrol on Saturday when they made the discovery.
A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs and drug driving.
A police spokesman said: "During a routine patrol they stopped a vehicle just outside of Warrington town centre.
"During the stop the officers carried out a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
"As a result of the search they found a quantity of what is believed to be class B drugs.
"A 52-year-old man was immediately arrested on suspicion of possession of class B drugs with intent to supply.
"While at the roadside a local patrol who were equipped with drugs wipe also attended and carried out the procedure.
"The man provided a positive sample for driving over the prescribed drugs limit and was further arrested for this offence."
