THE heartbroken mum of Adam Cooper feels ‘humbled’ by the kindness of friends, family and strangers as she comes to terms with her son’s death.

The 31-year-old dad died suddenly while playing for Culcheth Eagles on July 1 during an away game at Runcorn ARLFC.

Since his death, thousands of pounds have been donated to help support the family and the fundraising target has been increased twice.

Mum Joy Cooper-Crippin, 57, said: “It has been very humbling to know so many people want to help. I would like to say thank you to everyone who has taken the time to share their memories of Adam.”

The cause of death has now been confirmed as acute cardiac failure.

Floral tributes have been left on the playing field at Shaw Street Recreation Ground in Culcheth where Adam honed his rugby talents.

Adam’s funeral will take place on Friday, July 21, at 1.30pm at Newchurch Parish Church on Church Lane in Culcheth followed by a private burial.

Mourners are invited to attend The Daten on Charnock Road in Culcheth to celebrate Adam’s life after the church service.

Representatives from rugby clubs are invited to wear their club shirts.
