THE wife of a devoted dad is desperately searching to find a missing part to her bracelet which has an engraving of her late husband's fingerprint.

Vickie Nyland has been an 'emotional wreck' since she realised the heart charm on her bracelet had fallen off - 14 months after his death.

The 35-year-old made the discovery at around 5.30pm yesterday, Monday, when she was cooking tea for her children.

"I instantly burst into tears," said mum-of-three Vickie.

"I've not taken it off since I had it made last year. I'm devastated.

"It has no value to anyone but it is of massive sentimental value to me and my girls."

Jamie, from Great Sankey, was 29 years old when he died on May 6, 2016, with his loving wife by his side – three days after being rushed to Warrington Hospital in an ambulance.

The former Great Sankey High School pupil, who worked as a plasterer, had been suffering from sickness and stomach pains in the weeks leading up to his tragic death.

In a desperate bid to find the heart charm, Vickie has retraced her steps and turned the house upside down.

During the day Vickie visited the post office on Honiton Way in Penketh and the Co-op on Warrington Road.

More than 1,000 people have shared her social media plea for help.

Vickie's friends are inviting residents to join them for a group search for the charm, meeting outside Great Sankey Primary School at 9.30am next Wednesday.
