A 68-YEAR-OLD woman has been charged with the attempted murder of a care home resident in Burtonwood.
Marie Seyferth, of no fixed abode, was expected to appear at Warrington Magistrates' Court today, Wednesday, following a stabbing at St Mary's Continuing Care on Penny Lane more than 12 months ago.
But Seyferth was unable to attend the hearing due to ill health and the court appearance was postponed to next month.
Police were called to the care home in Burtonwood following reports of an attack shortly before 1pm on May 18, 2016.
The 68-year-old victim was stabbed multiple times in the back, neck and face.
Seyferth, who previously lived in Blackpool, was arrested at the scene.
While investigations were carried out by detectives, Seyferth received treatment in hospital.
She has since been charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon.
