Police tweeted this picture warning drivers of a sinkhole on Cairo Street on Sunday
REPAIRS to a collapsed sewer which caused a sinkhole could last up to three weeks.
A sinkhole appeared on Cairo Street on Sunday, with drivers advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
United Utilities staff have been at the site repairing the sewer.
Cairo Street – between St Austin's Lane and Rylands Street – is expected to be closed for up to three weeks while work takes place.
