TWO women were threatened during a robbery in Sankey Valley Park. 

Police are investigating the incident at 1.15am on Saturday after the two friends parked up on the Waterways Car Park, off Cromwell Avenue.

A man approached the driver’s side of the vehicle and asked for a lighter.

But the man then threatened the two women and demanded that they hand over all of their money. 

Both of the women gave the man their loose change.

The man then fled the scene towards Sankey Valley Park. 

The suspect is described as white, approximately 5ft 7ins, aged 22 to 30 and of medium build. 

He was wearing a dark jacket, trousers, trainers and a black baseball cap. 

DC Alison McLoughlin said: “Investigations into this incident are currently ongoing and we are following a number of lines of enquiry. 

“As part of the investigation I’m keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and believes that they may have witnessed anything suspicious.”
