A WARRINGTON Wolves super fan who died on his way to a match has been laid to rest.
Wire super fan Mike Naylor died after collapsing in the Looking Glass pub on Buttermarket Street, hours before he was due to watch Warrington Wolves play at Castleford Tigers on Sunday, June 11.
On Tuesday, June 27, family and friends said goodbye to the 52-year-old at Walton Lea Crematorium.
Mourners donned Warrington Wolves shirts in tribute to the Padgate resident, who had devoutly followed the Wire home and away for 38 years.
Legendary Wire forward Ben Westwood and Warrington Wolves chairman Steven Broomhead were among those who turned up to pay their respects.
Fellow fans displayed a specially made flag reading 'once a Wire, always a Wire'.
