AFTER a wet week, we have been regularly checking the weather for a glimpse of sunshine for Warrington Walking Day this Friday.
But despite pulling out our best sun dances and keeping everything crossed, the forecast is not looking great at the moment.
A Met Office spokesman added: "There will be some further outbreaks of rain through Friday, before an improving picture for the weekend as it turns drier and brighter with a keen westerly breeze, though some rain Saturday night."
The outlook is overcast with temperatures hovering around 15 to 16 degrees.
With a little bit of luck, it looks like the rain should hold off until 1pm with a 35% chance of rain around 10am.
And at least, for now, it doesn't look like we should have a repeat of 2012...
Whatever the weather, our team of reporters and photographers will be out covering Walking Day so don't forget to give them a wave.
