HUNDREDS of mothers, sisters, daughters, aunties, grandmothers and friends took to the streets for the 12th annual Starlight Walk in support of St Rocco’s Hospice last night.
This year there was a new theme and a new date, but the participants were as cheerful as always as they tackled the ladies-only sponsored 6.5 mile or 13 mile route from Orford Jubilee Hub through Latchford, Orford and Warrington town centre.
For the first time girls from the age of 12 were able to join their mums on the walk, meaning even more family members could take part in the event and fundraise for the much-loved hospice.
And the walkers illuminated the night sky with glow sticks, colourful accessories and bright clothes as part of this year’s ‘glow for it’ theme.
When the kind-hearted walkers arrived back at the hub after their moonlit trek they were greeted with free bacon butties and hot drinks after collecting their special medals at the finish line.
