WARRINGTON'S mayor has told councillors to turn off their mobile phones before meetings to ensure they are 'paying attention'.
Cllr Les Morgan (LAB – Latchford West) issued the plea midway through Monday's full council meeting at the Town Hall.
He said: "I ask everyone to turn their phones off at the start of the meeting.
"I look round and see people using mobiles.
"Can you please pay attention to the meeting, therefore you can fully partake in the business."
After the meeting he said he was 'upset' that some councillors were using their phones and not 'paying attention' during the evening in the chamber.
