NURSES will be checking fans’ blood pressure during Warrington Wolves’ clash with Catalan Dragons this weekend.
Staff from Warrington Hospital’s stroke ward and the Stroke Association will be on hand at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Saturday in a bid to tackle the ‘silent killer’ of high blood pressure.
Jane Guy, stroke recovery coordinator at the Stroke Association, said: “We are delighted to be working with Warrington Wolves again this year to spread the word about the importance of knowing your blood pressure.
“There are over nine-and-a-half million people in the UK with high blood pressure and seven million remain undiagnosed.
“It only takes a moment to check your blood pressure and it’s one of the most important things you can do to reduce your risk of a stroke.
“A blood pressure test is quick and painless, and it could save your life.”
