ALL lanes of the M6 southbound have now reopened after a crash at around 4.15pm between two cars at junction 21A for the Croft Interchange.
One car was overturned and the entire carriageway was closed while emergency services attended.
All vehicles have now been moved to the hard shoulder, with paramedics, firefighters and police working quickly to make the road safe.
The road reopened at around 5.10pm.
Traffic is queued back to junction 24 for Ashton In Makerfield and motorists have been warned to expect delays of around 40 minutes.
