YOUNGSTERS at a nursery in Woolston have completed a sponsored walk after the mum of two pupils suffered a stroke at the age of 40.
Gail Bell had a stroke at her home in Fearnhead in November.
Now Puddleducks Day Nursery on Epping Drive, where Gail's young children Henry and Georgia are pupils, has held a sponsored walk in aid of the Stroke Association.
Around 50 pupils completed four laps of the nursery's field, raising more than £200 for the charity.
The walk was also held to mark the nursery's 18th birthday.
Manager Lindsay Piddeon said: "It really was a shock when we heard what had happened to Gail as both her children have been here since they were babies.
"We've supported them in the best way that we can as she's been going through the process of getting better, and she's definitely on the road to recovery now."
