RYAN Atkins is available for selection for Wolves’ Challenge Cup quarter final against Wigan on Saturday, head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith confirms.
The centre sat out Sunday’s 36-16 reverse at Castleford with a hernia injury but returns to give The Wire a much-needed boost in an injury-hit centre region.
News of Atkins’ return is offset by news of an injury to Matty Blythe, who limped off after just four minutes at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle.
Smith confirmed Blythe had suffered a small fracture in his leg that would rule him out most of what is left of 2017.
Kevin Brown (foot) and Kurt Gidley (calf) will face fitness tests to determine their availability to face Shaun Wane’s side, but Matty Russell (knee) is still out.
