THESE boots were made for walking and that's just what staff at LiveWire have been doing.

A number of staff members from the company tasked with looking after Warrington's leisure, libraries and lifestyle services have left their cars at home and signed up for #WalkitWednesday.

The Warrington Guardian campaign has been running throughout the Spring calling on readers to walk to work or school at least one day a week.

Project 10,000 Steps is a more fast-paced workout within the park with participants working towards as many steps as possible within 45 minutes.

This session runs from 1 to 1.45pm and includes a free hot drink and piece of fruit.

Emma Hutchinson, managing director of LiveWire, said: "It's fantastic to see so many of our staff taking part in the Walk It Wednesday campaign, which not only promotes physical activity but also helps the environment.

"I would encourage our customers to leave their cars at home and walk to the gym, library or a fitness class if they're able to.

"We are also pleased to be providing a number of new walking-based activities at Bank Park on Wednesdays this summer, which are targeted at all abilities."
