BEN Currie is on track with his return to action and looking the part too, says Warrington Wolves’ head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith.
The England international back-rower is powering through his rehab after surgery to repair the anterior cruciate ligament he tore against Wigan in the Super 8s last year “There’s a set time for the operation to heal that you can’t go away from,” said Smith.
“So it will be late June or early July for Ben. It isn’t a case that because he’s ripping it up in rehab that he can come back early.
“He’s doing really well and running well. He’s put on weight in the right place. He’s really strong and looking big and mobile, so we’ll look forward to getting him back.”
Smith added: “The schedule is probably about the same for Toby King, about seven weeks with his hamstring.
“Harvey Livett didn’t need an operation in the end with his hamstring but he’s 16 weeks to come back, pretty much most of the season.
“It’d be good if we saw him again this year because it’s a shame for a young man who had been showing us the talent that he can bring to the table as well.”
