FOUR caravans and associated vehicles have set up camp on playing fields in Fearnhead.
The authority has visited the group on the land, off Crab Lane, which belongs to the council.
A council spokesman said: "We have visited the encampment and have taken welfare assessments on those members of the group who were available."
