WARRINGTON'S new mayor is taking up his new role tonight, Monday.
Cllr Les Morgan (LAB - Latchford West) succeeds Cllr Faisal Rashid.
He is being sworn in at the official mayor making ceremony in the Town Hall.
Cllr Morgan’s term as mayor will be under the banner of ‘The Mayor That Cares’. Deputy Mayor will be Cllr Karen Mundry.
Cllr Morgan said: “As the Mayor of Warrington I will be striving to promote the good news story that is Warrington.
“I will make sure everyone knows about our many and ongoing successes in developing the business and investment sectors.
“I have a great love for my town and I believe it’s a great place to call home.”
Cllr Morgan has been married to wife Gwyn for 41 years and has four children and eight grandchildren.
He is backing four charities the MS Society (Warrington), Street Pastors (Warrington), Papyrus and Warrington Foodbank.
