WARRINGTON Athletics Club achieved 33 medals on their home track in the Cheshire Track and Field Championships.

Fourteen golds, 13 silvers and six bronzes were accompanied by three championship-best performances over two days at Victoria Park.

Those golden Cheshire bests came at under 17s level from Megan Kettle, 40.92m in the hammer, and Tom Baines, 49.71secs in the 400m, as well as Meg Corker in the under 13s girls’ 70m hurdles in 11.50secs .

Corker’s 10.58secs over 75m also earned her a silver gong.

Cameron Duff collected a sprint double at under 17s level, with times of 11.53secs and 23.57secs for the 100m and 200m. Fisayo Williamson-Taylor repeated that feat in the under 20s age group, clocking 11.34secs and 23.02secs.

Bronze: Amy Nuttall, under 17s women, 800m, 2mins 23.50secs; Isaac Ataullah under 15s boys, 1500m, 4mins 42.41secs; Olivia Chamun, under 13s girls, shot putt, 6.59m; javelin, 16.92m; Lucas Hayes, under 15s boys, 80m hurdles, 14.53secs; Rhys Hopkins, under 13s boys, 800m, 2mins 27.93secs. James Gladman won the 200m gold medal in 21.74 seconds at the Greater Manchester Track and Field Championships in Stretford.
