MOVE over Steven Spielberg.

A new class of directors are set to take the limelight. Youngsters have been working behind the scenes to create their own movies at Birchwood High School.

The Lights, Camera, Action Club is made up of 20 hopeful filmmakers from nearby primary schools who have been producing their own two-minute versions of famous movies as part of the after school group.

Media students from the high school helped children write their storyboards, cast actors, appoint directors and use specialist equipment during the shoot.

The films will be shown at the school’s own Oscars awards ceremony, with an audience of parents and pupils, on May 24. The young movie stars will pick up awards for their hard work.
