RESIDENTS are being reminded that the deadline to register to vote in the General Election is 11.59pm tonight, Monday.

The council has sent poll cards out to properties across the borough.

Anyone who has not received one should check that they are registered to vote, and if not, do so as soon as possible.

Time is also running out to apply for a postal vote, which residents will need if they are not available to vote in person on June 8.

The deadline for applying for a postal vote is Tuesday, May 23 at 5pm.

You can vote if you are 18 or over, you live in the UK and are a British or Irish citizen, or a Commonwealth citizen.

To register to vote visit gov.uk/register-to-vote, where you will need to provide your date of birth and national insurance number.

You can check if you are already registered to vote by e-mailing the elections team at elections@warrington.gov.uk.
