A MAN has avoided a jail sentence after he was found with a knife in a public place.
Dale Peter Schmeichel Waterworth had a fixed blade knife in his possession on Sandy Lane in Lymm on Tuesday, April 11.
On Monday, May 8, the 23-year-old was handed a six month prison sentence suspended for 18 months at Warrington Magistrates Court after admitting possession of an offensive weapon and theft.
Waterworth, of Chaise Meadow, Lymm, was ordered to complete a drug rehabilitation requirement and ordered to pay £85 costs plus a victim surcharge of £115.
He was also ordered to pay £9.99 in compensation to McColls, having stolen beer to that value from a store on Monday, January 23.
