WOOLLY mammoths would have been running scared from pupils at Great Sankey Primary School as youngsters got in touch with their prehistoric side for the launch of a new topic.
Staff and students dressed up as cavemen and cavegirls to get into the spirit of the Stone Age for their latest history project.
The fearsome group wore fake fur and leopard print adorned with pretended animal bone accessories.
Other pupils dressed up as archaeologists hoping to find historical treasure left behind by classical civilisations while some classes wrapped up in togas to help them imagine life in an Ancient Greek city.
