CHARITABLE deeds are in the pipeline for a Cinnamon Brow plumber, who is set to service residents’ boilers in a fundraising mission.

Mark Stewart will be giving up the last Friday of every month in order to service boilers to raise money for a children’s hospice.

The Shetland Close resident, who has been a plumber since 1994 and currently runs MS Plumbing and Heating, is hoping to fit around five services into each charity Friday.

He said: “We’re a small business but it’s not about me or earning what we can earn – it’s all about giving a bit back.

“I’m going to see how it goes – it might go massive but at first I’ve allocated the last Friday of every month for charity although I might end up only working four days a week and doing every Friday.

“We’re not doing it to generate work – we’re doing it to raise awareness and if we can give a bit back that’s all I’m bothered about.

“At the end of the day, it’s only my time but while we’re out there we’re making people safe, checking carbon monoxide alarms and gas appliances while we’re on site.

“If they can make a donation, I’m doing my bit and hopefully I can make a little bit of a difference.

“I’m not going to change the world but I want to make a little bit of a difference and that’s all I want to do.”

Mark will rotate which charities he services boilers for, but the first will be Zoe’s Place children’s hospital in Liverpool.

He added: “I’ve got children myself and I’m very passionate about my family.

“It’s heart-breaking as it’s where terminally ill children go and I want to do my bit for that.

“Being a local, family-run business I want to help charities local to Warrington as well, so maybe after six months for Zoe’s Place we will switch it and rotate it around.”
