A TEACHER from Wales has taken to social media in the hope of tracking down her dad’s birth father.

Zoe Hughes has issued a desperate plea for help after her father Christopher Foulder discovered that the man who raised him was not his biological father.

His birth father is believed to be a former soldier based at the Burtonwood Airbase in the 1950s.

She said: “As you can imagine my poor father is completely heartbroken.

“He rang up to get a replacement birth certificate and was asked if it he wanted a certificate before or after his adoption.

“He thought it was a clerical error and just dismissed it – that is until his uncle confirmed the news.

“My nan and grandad were wonderful people and I can honestly say they were the best nana and granddad that anyone could wish for.

“My dad loved them and they adored him.

“Sadly they are not here anymore to ask the details and the people that would know have passed or simply forgotten as it was a long time ago.”

Christopher, now 65, was born in 1951 to mum Isabel Foulder and was later adopted by her partner.

The family understand his birth dad was called staff sergeant Burke and he was an American soldier.

Zoe added: “We have done everything we can as a family to help get answers for my dad.

“We took to Facebook to make a public plea and we are overwhelmed that it has gone viral. It means so much to us.”
