WOLVES have some positive selection headaches ahead of their trip to Hull FC tomorrow, Friday, kick off 8pm.

Head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith takes his side to the KCOM Stadium having welcomed three key players back into his squad.

Mike Cooper, Matty Russell (both head) and Daryl Clark (suspension) missed Saturday’s 22-20 win over Wakefield but all three are set to face the Black and Whites.

First team coach Richard Agar says having so many players to choose from is a nice problem for The Wire to have.

Agar also says Friday’s game kicks off a run of games that will prove pivotal in Wolves’ season.

“We’ve got three quality guys returning to our squad. Mike and Matty have both passed their head tests with flying colours,” he said.

“It’s probably the first time this season that we have had a selection headache for the right reasons.

“We’ve had 29 guys on the training field this week, considering we’re in the week after Easter, that’s a pretty pleasant place to be in.

“We’ve been careful with them this week. We’ve not had as much time on the field and there’s been a lot of recovery involved.

“We’ve got a bit of momentum behind us now and we’re going into a really important month.

“This month will go a long way towards defining our season.”

The Wire travel to East Yorkshire with the aim of recording their fifth Super League victory in a row and with the aim of climbing into the top eight for the first time this season.

Despite their upturn in form, Wolves’ performances have still been riddled with errors and Agar says they cannot afford to give Lee Radford’s side the luxury of cheap possession.

“We’ve got to prepare for the best Hull FC. They are a quality team,” he said.

“It’s only four weeks since we faced them this time around as well so we are familiar with each other.

“We cannot afford to give them that much possession because it will wear us out defensively.

“Our attack has been patchy but I think over the past five or six games, we’ve got our mojo back in terms of advancing down the field.

“Fundamental errors have been killing us and that punctuates our attack.”
