A ‘CHEEKY’ and popular four-year-old boy from Great Sankey has died after a ‘shock’ accident on a family holiday to Egypt.

Isaac Webster was on an Easter break with his parents, Andy and Kelly, and his eight-year-old brother Leo when the tragedy happened.

He was taken to Nile Hospital in Hurghada where he was in critical care but sadly died on Friday morning.

Now the community has pulled together in support of his family, who are due to fly back to the UK tomorrow.

More than £10,000 has been raised to help cover funeral costs, expenses to bring Isaac's body home and household costs to help relieve any financial worries for the family over the coming months.

Isaac’s brother, Leo, plays for junior football team Sankey Strikers which launched a fundraising page for the family and they have collected more than £5,000 of donations in just two days.

Family friend Pete Pinnington, whose son also plays on the team, said:  “Isaac would come along to games and kick a ball from the side lines and support his brother.

“They’re very close, understandably, as close as brothers can be. Isaac was loved by the parents and family members who watched matches from the side lines, he’d have a little kick about with them while his brother was playing.

“He was great, a cheeky little chappie and a beautiful boy.”

The family had also found out over Easter weekend that Isaac had been given a place at Barrow Hall Primary School, where Leo is a pupil, and was excited about starting in September.

Pete said the fundraising page has received donations from people all over the country and added: “Anyone who has kids in the family, it’s not bearable to even see a child ill.

“You’re going off on holiday to have a fab family time and this happens. You go away as four and come back as three. I think a lot of people are feeling how awful that is, we certainly are.

“Andy has said how amazed they are with people’s generosity. In some small way it’s helped them to know how much Isaac was loved and how much support is here for them at home.

“They do want to pass on their huge appreciation and thanks.

“Leo’s team mates have said they are all going to be there to support him and look after him. All the parents on the team are a close-knit family.

“We will offer as much support for his parents as we can, and for Leo, because he was there at the time of the accident.”

Sankey Strikers will be running a mile race and doing a balloon launch at their training ground on Dakota Park in Chapelford to raise money in Isaac’s memory on May 7 at midday.
