MOTORISTS faced long delays after the swing bridge in Latchford broke down.
Roads in the surrounding areas clogged up following the incident, with engineers making their way to the site to carry out repairs.
Peel Ports, which owns the swing bridges in the town, has previously confirmed it has a routine maintenance and repair programme in place across all of its sites.
Last summer the swing bridge in Stockton Heath broke down and caused traffic chaos in a repeat of an incident in summer 2015.
The swing bridge reopened just before 4pm following repairs.
