THE war memorial in Hollinfare is set to be lit up to commemorate soldiers killed during the First and Second World War.
A plan to light the grade II listed memorial at the junction of Dam Lane and School Lane is set to be discussed by members of the council's development management committee on Wednesday.
The memorial stands in the centre of a roundabout and carries the name of 12 men killed in the First World War and three who died in the second.
The application has been made by the ‘Hollinfare Shine The Light’ group which represent the community and who are committed to improving the visual amenity of the area and commemorating local soldiers who fell during the First and Second World Wars.
The application has been recommended for approval by council planning officers.
