DRIVERS heading south on the M6 from Warrington face severe delays this morning.
Traffic is queueing back to Lymm after the accident near to junction 19 at Knutsford and junction 18 at Middlewich.
A load of two concrete barriers has been shed onto the southbound motorway.
A rolling road block was in place while two lanes were closed.
But the lanes were reopened at 9.45am.
Drivers are being advised to plan their journeys and allow additional time.
At 8am, delays of over 90 minutes were recorded on the southbound M6.
A spokesman for Highways England said: "Removing the concrete blocks requires a specialist crane, which will take some time.
"Work to move the concrete blocks is underway with the aim of reopening a second lane while further recovery work takes place in the outside lane."
