A COUPLE of mischievous lambs found themselves in trouble in the early hours of this morning and had to be rescued by firefighters.
Two crews from Stockton Heath Fire Station and Knutsford Fire Station were called to Crowley Lane in High Legh at around 1.50am where one playful lamb had got stuck in a sewer.
Firefighters spotted the animal running around through a manhole cover so one crew member put on a safety harness and was lowered into the sewer, which was almost three metres deep.
The lamb was rescued and reunited with the other sheep in a nearby field.
Firefighters also spotted another lamb stuck in a ditch, which they rescued before they left the scene.
