POLICE are investigating a suspected arson attack in Howley.
Emergency services were called to a fire at the front of a house on Harbord Street at 4pm on Tuesday.
Detective constable Emily Teare said: “We believe the offender has poured lighter fluid over the front door of the property before setting it alight and causing significant damage.
“It is only fortunate the woman who lived at the property wasn’t in at the time.
“I would appeal to anyone in the area who may have seen someone acting suspiciously around the time of the incident to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting 538 incident of March 7 or by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
