POLICE are appealing for information after a pensioner sustained serious injuries in a town centre assault.
The 73-year-old woman was crossing Scotland Road when a man barged into her, causing her to fall to the floor.
He asked if the woman was ok before walking away, with the victim then treated in hospital having sustained serious injuries.
Cheshire Police are appealing for information over the incident, which took place between 3.45pm and 4.45pm on Monday, March 20.
The suspect is described as being white, around 5ft7 with a medium build and in his 40s – the man had curly ginger hair which came to his ears as well as a ginger goatee beard.
He was wearing a green uniform including a green coat top and green trousers with a logo, and was carrying a large bag on his back.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 519 on March 20, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
