POLICE have issued a warning to advise members of the public to be vigilant following a report of a cold caller in Stockton Heath today, Tuesday.
Officers are currently searching the area to trace the man after the alarm was raised earlier today.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "A report has been made about a male who has knocked at an address in Stockton Heath saying he was from United Utilities offering £10 for an informant to complete a survey.
"They have declined to take part and have also contacted United Utilities who has advised that they have no knowledge of this.
"The male was wearing a high-visibility jacket and was carrying a clipboard.
"Please be vigilant. If anyone calls at your address in similar circumstances do not pass any personal details to them, refuse them entry to your home and contact us on 101."
