FEARS over plans to build 770 homes in Appleton and Grappenhall Heys will be discussed at a public meeting tonight, Tuesday.

Liberal Democrat councillors have organised the meeting after the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) registered outline planning applications for 370 homes at its Appleton Cross site, on Dipping Brook Avenue, and 400 at Grappenhall Heys, off Witherwin Avenue.

It will take place at Bridgewater High School's upper site, on Broomfields Road, at 7.30pm.

The ward councillors expressed 'serious concerns' over traffic, health provision and education during a 'useful meeting' with planning officers yesterday, Monday.

Last month, the HCA's plans to build 180 homes at Pewterspear Green were approved by the authority.

Both applications expire on June 8.
