LIVEWIRE has launched a new eight-week programme which is geared towards encouraging families in Latchford to improve their fitness and eating habits.
The Active Families project was developed in response to feedback from members of Westy Boxing Club, which has been credited as the catalyst behind reducing the number of anti-social behaviour incidents in the area.
Paul Flannery, who is delivering the project, said: "We identified that there was a real need for family activity in the area, and in particular work to do around encouraging healthy living."
The scheme offers a range of activities including retro playground games, netball, swimming, yoga, dance, nutritional classes, quizzes and games.
LiveWire successfully applied for funding through the Latch Ford Big Local Area
This is the second time LiveWire has benefited from the trust's funding after the neighbourhood wellbeing company was awarded a grant earlier this year to run the This Girl Can programme in Latchford and Westy.
