IT was a busy evening for firefighters last night as they were called to tackle fires on Windermere Avenue, Farrell Street and Longshaw Street.
At around 6.15pm a crew from Warrington Fire Station was called to Longshaw Street where a patch of open ground had caught alight.
Firefighters used beaters to put out the flames.
Later, at around 8.15pm, a crew from Stockton Heath arrived at Windermere Avenue where a fire involving grass had broken out.
A hose reel jet was used to extinguish the flames.
At around 8.40pm, firefighters from Penketh were called to Farrell Street where a large fire had been started 'deliberately'.
An area of grassland, approximately 40 metres by 20 metres in size, had been set on fire and the crew used handheld fire extinguishers to put out the flames.
Police were also at the scene and anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Luckily nobody was reported hurt at any of the incidents.
