A CASH boost of £6,700 has been donated to OnSide Warrington Youth Club (WYC) by the ladies team at Lymm Golf Club.

Captain Marian Watson and her team organised fundraising events throughout the year including a charity golf day, quiz night and ladies race afternoon to help the charity to continue its life-changing work.

Marian said: “I chose Onside WYC as our charity this year as we wanted to raise awareness of the amazing work that they do for young people living in Warrington.

“We are very proud to be associated with OnSide WYC.”
Business manager of OnSide WYC Lyndsay Darlison, welcomed the news following the team’s support over the past year.

She said: “Marian and the ladies section have been extremely helpful and supportive over the past 12 months, and we look forward to continuing and growing this relationship.”

The youth club, which is currently based at the Peace Centre off Cromwell Avenue, has also been gifted with a new nine-seater Ford Transit custom minivan.

The vehicle was purchased using money donated by the DM Thomas Foundation for Young People.

To celebrate the generous donation, the foundation treated a group of young people from OnSide WYC to hot chocolates and muffins at Cloud 23 in Manchester.

Chief executive of OnSide WYC Dave McNicholl said: “The donation allows us to transport young people from across Warrington to our youth club.

“This will give them access to opportunities to socialise, access development programmes and services that they would not otherwise be able to do and therefore support more children and young people.”
